Start an online business with less than $100

Do you need money to start an online business?

“There is no way you can start an online business without lots of capital…right?”

There is a long-held belief that starting a business is incredibly expensive. And honesty? No question in some cases that’s true. For hundreds of years, you had to have a physical storefront and master a skill or be able to come up with the money to buy goods wholesale so that you could mark them up and sell them retail.

The risks were endless, but that’s not so true today.

In 2022 and beyond you can start a business with $0 if you really want, but if we are going to have a small budget (would recommend it)? I’d bet any of you can get something going for less than $100.

The returns could be life-changing…

An online, content-based business costs almost nothing to start

Like this blog, you’re reading? Guess what. Domain name? $10. Hosting? $20 a month. Theme? $50…everything else? Sweat equity.

We are already seeing thousands of views from people JUST LIKE YOU reading our content and listening to our podcast. If we wanted to just place ads from something like Ezoic or Adsense, no question it would be an easy few hundred a month.

We have built websites from $0 to $30M+ exits just by writing on the internet. The opportunity is endless. You just need to pick something you love and are knowledgeable about and willing to keep writing about even in the beginning when nobody is reading or listening.

The amount of money out there for us all to grab is almost more than you can imagine and with the scale of the internet, it’s possible to be writing from the comfort of your couch and reaching readers around the world.

It’s up to you to decide if you want those readers to be monetized by seeing ads on your site, or selling them products directly. The easiest way will be to place ads. If you have a blog, just start by signing up for https://adsense.com and if you are going to run a newsletter, find an advertiser that fits your niche from https://offervault.com

Either way, don’t be scared away from the gold rush just because you think you need lots of money to start or that you have to know how to monetize from day one.

You don’t!

Just decide on a newsletter or blog (or both) and get started.

If you REALLY want to design the website yourself, it’s worth taking a look at this article we have on it here

Instead of raising money for some cash-intensive brick and mortar business, you should be writing online

Just start! I know you don’t know how, but it’s really just about picking something you love (we love building businesses and entrepreneurship) and then picking a platform to write about it on.

It’s important for you to pick something that you are willing to write about even when nobody is reading. If you’re on social? You won’t have followers for a while. If you are writing a blog you won’t rank in Google for a while. If you have a newsletter it will be a while before you have subscribers.

The point is just to start. Most will give up in the 3-6 months it takes to see traction with writing online…don’t be most. Be better than most. Make it through the lows of yelling to an empty room before you have readers, and the rewards can be unmatched,

To sum it up into some actionable advice, follow these steps and you will be off to the races.

#1: Pick a niche you like. Remember this is going to take time to get traction. So pick something that you enjoy! You don’t have to be an expert on the topic you are writing about. It will make it much easier to keep going if you ACTUALLY like it though.

#2: Pick a medium to write on. Are you going to be writing a weekly newsletter? A blog? Maybe you want to build a Twitter account. The options are endless, you just need to pick one and stick with it.

#3: Tell your friends and family. I know…this is scary, but your friends and family should be your biggest supporters. Everyone always asks how to get readers. Well open up your phone, Instagram, Twitter, email, etc, and find 50 people to write a personalized message to that might be interested in your new project.

If you let yourself believe that you need tens of thousands of dollars to start an online business, you will be like everyone else who finds an excuse not to start. Moving nowhere fast.

Foward momentum over everything guys!

Anyone can start a super simple business online with less than $100. You just have to pick something you like writing about, a place to put your writing, and then start sharing it.
